I work within the Business School where I teach across the Business IT undergraduate portfolio of courses and MSc modules in relation to Information Systems, Information Management and Digital Marketing. I specialise in action research that delivers solutions to live industry problems. Professionally, I have worked as a digital project manager encompassing solution architecture, web development and online social media presence. I am a member of the award winning centre for digital business within the business school. My research and consultancy relates to enabling implementation of innovation, processes and technologies in SMEs.


I develop and deliver content for both our MSc Search and Social Media Marketing programme and our industry focused Continuing Professional Development Courses. I am responsible for development of new undergraduate modules for final year students covering social media, search engine optimisation (SEO), social media optimisation (SMO) and analytics. As module leader, I develop the course curricula and am responsible for the delivery of the undergraduate Principles of Systems Development module.


My PhD research is looking to develop a framework of activities for enabling SME innovation. I am analysing multiple cases of implementation of innovation in SME business contexts, illustrating how Activity Theory locates innovation within “activity systems”. My research examines how extent Activity Theory can be used as a les for both innovation and implementation in SMEs. I have completed research and have interest in mixed-methods social network analysis (SNA), digital influencer marketing strategies and online communities. I am a member of The Centre For Digital Business: I am currently completing study for my Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice.
